Heading up into the high country of Montana from our dude ranch in the Boulder Valley to check out the area around a glacier lake is a weekly activity enjoyed by our guests. The 3 hour trip up a very bumpy road in our 6×6 Pinzgauer is a unique experience for most people and is certainy worth doing.
Hungry after the long ride they eat a delicious sack lunch in an unbelievable setting around the glacier lake.
Then guests decide whether they are taking the strenuous hike up to the top of Monument Peak, do some sliding on snow banks around the lake, fish in the lake outlet, or just relax in the beautiful mountain basin.
On the way back to the ranch a stop is made by the old mining equipment from the gold rush days of the late 1880’s.
Looking for fool’s gold hasn’t made anyone rich yet, but it sure is fun!
